2013: what does it bring to SEO

Although, there has been a dramatic change in the world of internet over the last few years but there are some constants that will always play a vital role for the Web professionals in the development of their internet strategy. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is definitely one of them. However, it doesn’t mean that SEO practices will remain the same in 2013. Let’s have a closer look at some important SEO trends for the year 2013:

Mobile Search

Since the release of iPhone, mobile has become an emerging trend in SEO. Due to the addition of hundreds of millions of smartphone users and increased diversification in tablet market, mobile search is no more a novelty. Thus it is important for the websites and blogs to get prepared for mobile capabilities and mobile searches, as there will be an additional amount of traffic from mobile devices. It will require the website owners to include the mobile specific Web formatting for easing their job.

Title Tags and Headings

These data pieces have always been considered to be one of the most important elements of SEO. The only difference is that now during indexation Google and other search engines are going to focus on title tags and headings that specifically relate to the keyword based content. Thus, the publishers are now required to split their web content into various sections so that each one clearly addresses a different topic.

Tag Management

It is basically the practice of adding the metadata keywords (assigned to content) on the web which makes it easier for the users to find them during the search. In 2013, the marketers will put additional efforts on the management of multichannel tags. There are various useful tag management services available like BrightTag and Tealiumand TagMan etc. that can nicely help marketers accomplish their targets.

Conversion Rate Optimization

While ranking websites, the search engines will be required to rely more on the conversion rates instead of search traffic in order to provide higher quality products or services to the interested users.

Google+ and Google Authorship

There is anticipation that in 2013, there would be a pandering through Google+ and Google Authorship program (where the authors are able to identify a certain post or page as their own work by simply linking them to their Google+ accounts) and both of them are likely to become much more important in search engine rankings.

High Quality Content

Search engines are always looking for high quality content which not only includes the conventional content such as blog posts but also the site design or links. This means that in 2013, the publishers will not be able to reuse the same old content and they need to produce a lot of unique and high quality content in order to stay competitive.

The Human Touch

Humanized rankings are expected to be far more common in 2013 incorporating the higher quality content and the social media data in order to provide results on real time basis. Therefore, if you were only relying on taking the advantage of impersonal algorithm of Google then it’s definitely the right time to develop a different strategy.
